Warmington Bonfire and Fireworks

Dear Villagers

Just a quick update as to village events that continue to be affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, the 2020 Bonfire and Fireworks event on the Green will not be going ahead, we sincerely hope the event will be able to return in 2021

There are several reasons for this, with the recent changes to social distancing guidance, an event that regularly attracts over 1000 people, is simply not possible to safely organise. We would also be unable to provide a BBQ, and this is a vital part of the event in terms of being a financial success for the village hall. We wanted you to know now in order that villagers can manage their Green waste this Autumn.  Needless to say, without a bonfire night, no garden green debris should be placed on the Green.

Finally, there has been some good news for the village hall during the lockdown and continued closure of the hall, a grant has been secured from Stratford District Council, and this has enabled us to continue to maintain and redecorate the hall in preparation for when we are finally in a position to reopen the hall to the public.

We trust these reasons for the postponement and continued closure of the hall make sense to everyone during these difficult times. We shall, of course, continue to keep you updated as restrictions change and we hopefully head back to a situation when the village hall becomes open to villagers again.
